What are the three components of a Learning Management Solution?
The three main components are process, platform and people. Process is made up of assessment, monitoring, analysis and support. The platform is a learning environment that gives the students a central repository to learn and gives the organization the opportunity to monitor and measure the performance of their team. The people are the learning professionals that support the learning process by providing training sessions and support to the students.
How is is this different from the traditional approach?
The traditional training approach leaves students will only a few options; they can attend a scheduled instructor-led session (physical or online) close to where they live and work (or travel to a specific destination if the course is not available or if there are scheduling conflicts). The other option (self paced) is to subscribe to a content provider that grants access to a library of videos or simply through YouTube and other content sources.
The traditional approach often covers a broad general range of topics, does not provide long term support or monitoring of students.
